EXTRAORDINARY
GENERAL MEETING
NOMINATIONS
FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
NOTICE
OF AN EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING
Saturday 23rd November at 3.00pm. The Jerwood Space,
London SE1 0LN
PROPOSAL
TO THE MEMBERS OF THE SONIC ARTS NETWORK:
TO AGREE AMENDMENTS TO THE SONIC ARTS NETWORK ARTICLES
OF ASSOCIATION CONCERNING MAKE-UP AND TENURE OF THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
We ask members
to attend an Extraordinary General Meeting on the 23
November and vote on the above proposal to amend
our Articles of Association. If you cannot attend you
may vote by proxy.
The proposed
amendments were approved by the current Board at its
meeting on the 14th September 2002 and are recommended
by the Board to the membership. They are the culmination
of discussions with legal, artistic and organisational
advisers, lengthy debate amongst previous and serving
members of the Board and staff, and consultation with
the membership at the 2001 AGM. The Board carries out
artistic policy-making activities on behalf of the Sonic
Arts Network and has considerable legal and financial
duties, obligations to staff and employees, and management
responsibilities. The proposed amendments aim to increase
the range of professional skills and experiences available
to the organisation and enable the Board to more properly
fulfil its responsibilities.
