Ensphered is a duet for soprano saxophone and tape in which a single instrumental line is fragmented and distributed between two parts. Sounds derived from the saxophone were used to generate most of the tape part in which transformations of both the timbre of the saxophone and the musical patterns it articulates are used to form a polyphony with the original image or line. It is through these often fragmented refractions and distortions that the saxophone weaves its solo part.

Ensphered was written in 1990. It was awarded a second prize in the 1991 Bourges Competition for electroacoustic music and an honourable mention in the 1992 Prix Ars Electronica.
