Sonic Arts Network Present A Residential Summer School In Max/MSP, The Worlds Leading Computer Environment For Interactive Sound Installations. This Six-Day Course Takes Place In The 600 Acres Of Lakes And Parkland Of Bretton Hall Sculpture Park Nr. Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Max/MSP is used by musicians, composers, improvisers, sound artists and installation designers and allows individuals to build their own custom environments beyond the rigidity of common computer tools. Max/MSP has been applied to interactive algorithmic music and image generation, interactive art installations, live performance systems and multimedia application prototyping.

Over 6 days the 12 participants will receive structured tuition in Max that will provide a thorough grounding in the programme and enable them to explore new territories for their future work. Participants are required to have experience of conventional computer-based music making (e.g. Logic, Cubase etc) and an interest in the use of sound in an installation sound art context. The course will be led by Martin Robinson (Middlesex University) with demonstrations by guest artists throughout the week.

Price for this course is £480. This course takes place the week preceding the Coma Summer School. For information about facilities and to book please visit www.coma.org/summer.htm
