
Brian O’Reilly works with video, sound installation, kinetic sculpture, assemblage books, electro-acoustic composition, and also is a performing contrabassist. He attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago on a scholarship for sculpture, where he completed a BFA in 1997. In 1998, he moved to Paris to study composition and work with the UPIC system at what is now the Centre de Création Musicale Iannis Xenakis (CCMIX). In 1999 he was appointed to the position of Musical Assistant at CCMIX. He received his graduate degree from MAT (Media Arts and Technology) at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 2004.
